Help Us Build A House

Habitat for Humanity Buffalo is sponsoring a Women Build project in 2010 as part of their 25th anniversary celebration. Women Build is a program of Habitat for Humanity International that empowers women to learn new construction skills, work on building a house, and make a difference in their community.

This will be a new house on Fox Street, funded and built primarily by women with a variety of skill set, and with a heart for partnering with a low-income family in need of simple, decent housing and desiring home ownership.

To make the dream a reality, we need to raise $50,000 over the winter and spring since the actual building will begin in May, 2010.

More than 500 women have already signed up to work on the project.  There is currently fund raising and recruitment underway.

Don’t worry if you don’t have construction skills. There are several ways for you to be involved and all come with hands-on training.

Support Women Build and open new doors of opportunities

The mission of HFHB’s Women Build program is to enable U.S. and international affiliates to recruit, educate and nurture women to build — and advocate for — simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities.

In achieving this, Women Build brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide
