You, your friends, and your family are invited to join Habitat Buffalo help create awareness for our mission by participating in a healthy activity. Our "Run to ReStore" will be celebrating its 3rd year. Both the 5k and Fun Walk routes will take you past homes that Habitat has built and rebuilt in South Buffalo.

This year's 5K-sanctioned race will take place:

On Monday, June 18, 2012 Habitat Buffalo will hold its 6th annual golf outing at Holland Hills Country Club. All proceeds will help fund our 2012 builds.

Help Us Build A House

Habitat for Humanity Buffalo is sponsoring a Women Build project in 2012.  Women Build is a program of Habitat for Humanity International that empowers women to learn new construction skills, work on building a house, and make a difference in their community.

The Habitat for Humanity-Buffalo Youth Build house is well underway! Located at 39 Garner Avenue in Buffalo, the Youth Build is being partially sponsored and rehabilitated by young people from around the area.

The Youth Build is being rehabbed using funds raised through Nickels for Nails, an ongoing opportunity for area youth to raise money for Habitat for Humanity-Buffalo, which has been a great success!

Now in its second year, Nickels for Nails is made possible by students from schools around the region. These students are helping our affiliate in a big way by depositing spare change and bills into paint cans and cardboard house banks distributed to them by our affiliate.

At the conclusion of the Youth Build, one of our hard-working and dedicated families will move into the house. A housewarming ceremony will then take place, and all will be invited to attend!

Habitat for Humanity Buffalo’s new build house at 20 Guilford Street was built to a LEED’s Gold performance level and is currently waiting for confirmation of that designation. It is the first single family LEED registered project in Western New York and was built by Habitat volunteers who committed themselves to the strenuous task of the rating system.

LEED stands for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System. It is designed to encourage, develop, and expand sustainable green building practices through a national and international standard of criteria.
